To create a new MySQL Dump Backup routine, select the "MySQL Dump" sub-menu item from the main navigation then select the "New MySQL Dump Job" button. This will present you with a form where you can complete the details about the backup routine you wish to execute.

Some important notes about some the form fields you'll be asked to enter:

  • Server - this is the server (which you've previously installed the Ottomatik agent on) where you want to run the backup job from.

  • Archive Location - this is the Archive (such as an Amazon S3 bucket etc. which you've previously created in the Archives section) where you want to store the resulting backup file.

  • Connection Details - these are the details for connecting to the database in order to execute the MySQL Dump command being ran from the Server indicated above.

  • Schedule - this defines how frequently you want the backup job to execute and when.

After you create the backup job record it will immediatley go into the scheduling for execution.
